Senior Homecare By Angels is very pleased to announce Marilou Conel as our recipient, Caregiver of the Month. Our office always receives positive feedback from our clients or family members when it comes to Marilou. Marilou has always been excellent when it comes to providing care and support. She has been treating our clients with respect and dignity. She is very patient, thoughtful, calm, diligent, and empathetic.

Marilou understood what our clients had gone through and she really put herself in their shoes. When she handled an Alzheimer’s case, she will show love and compassion through challenging moments or even stressful situations. With any other chronic conditions that our clients have been experiencing, Marilou will always be patient with them and supportive. She is dependable, trustworthy, and attentive to our clients’ needs. Also, she managed to her best and worked harmoniously with the client’s family members. She is so passionate about what she does and it gives her satisfaction to see her clients feeling happy and comfortable. It felt rewarding to her by caring for elderly.

Marilou started working with Senior Homecare By Angels since July 2018 and currently working part-time shifts for our clients in a retirement residence and homecare setting. She is a certified Personal Support Worker; and worked as a caregiver and childcare provider previously. Marilou loves cooking, enjoys watching TV, playing games in her iPad, and sometimes knitting during her spare time.

mia villa galangs

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- OCTOBER 2018

Senior Homecare By Angels is proudly present Mia Villa Galang, our Caregiver of the Month. We are so blessed to have Mia on our team. There are no other words to describe how wonderful she was! In addition to Mia’s nurturing and caring characteristics, she works well with the team and is flexible when it comes to her availability. She would be willing to help to cover the schedule when needed. If there are any circumstances that are too challenging for her, she will respond to these situations in a positive way.

Our client’s family are grateful for all of Mia’s help and support. They complimented Mia’s “professionalism, loving, and level-headed care for the parents.” Mia had helped the client developed the skills when it comes to “sudoku and computer as it benefited to their daily care and emotional well-being, especially the father.” According to the couple’s daughter, “the dad appreciates Mia’s assistance with his exercises which help him maintain his mobility and independence.” Also, Mia was appreciated for her “stability and calming influence” when the daughter calls her to notify if there is any cancellation on the schedule. “We also appreciate your concern and your communication skills with all the caregivers and team members. We realize that our family is most fortunate to have such continuity will all of the caregivers from David’s company and the community caregivers. We realize that this harmony is unique.” This wonderful feedback came from the couple’s daughter. She also thanked Mia’s “continued compassion and assistance in keeping both of my parents well-groomed, in good humour, safe, and enjoying an excellent quality of care.”

Mia has been working for Senior Homecare By Angels since October 2014. She graduated from Nursing back in her home country, and had worked as a Patient Care Assistant in the geriatric ward in the Middle East. Mia had worked with cases of Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Mia enjoys watching television with her children and friends during her free time.

janet wilson

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- SEPTEMBER 2018

Senior Homecare By Angels is proud to announce Janet Wilson as our recipient, Caregiver of the Month. Her compassion, empathy, diligence, commitment and dedication to our clients have been recognized. For the past several years that Janet has been working as a Personal Support Worker, she had demonstrated high professionalism approach in her career and integrity when it comes to delivering quality care to our clients. She had worked with clients with various chronic health conditions, and had learned the importance of understanding the diseases process. She knows how to treat the client with dignity and respect, and understands that each of the clients that she had been assigned with are designated to provide an individualized care by putting their safety and best interests first.

Janet is always putting the client’s needs first and she does it by putting herself in the client’s shoes, and will ease discomfort and pain. She understood what these clients are going through. She loves being a caregiver and happy on what she does, and continues to strive her best to improve the client’s quality of life. It gives her pure joy when seeing the client smiled, satisfied, and contented after she provided care for them.

Janet has started working with Senior Homecare By Angels on December 2008. She resumed back with our agency on February 2017 after she gained a full-time employment in a nursing home. She has been working as a Personal Support Worker for more than 28 years in her career. She had experienced with cases of Alzheimer’s, Geriatric Behavioural Issues, and other chronic conditions.

Janet enjoys walking, listening to some gospel songs, and spending her evening time with family and friends.

We are so proud of Janet and grateful for her continuous support with our clients and family. Her kindness, heartwarming, and thoughtful personality really touches anyone’s heart. Congratulations Janet and we hope that you continue your success with us!

Ma lorie almelia

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- AUGUST 2018

Senior Homecare By Angels is proudly present Ma. Lorlie Almelia, our Caregiver of the Month. We are grateful for Lorlie for her dedication, loyalty, and commitment. Her work performance was excellent. According to our client that she is currently assigned with, “Lorlie was very good. She had worked for me for 4 years, and willing to do everything that I asked.” She was very compassionate, caring, and just love helping people especially the elderly.

For Lorlie, it was a very rewarding experience for her to help others, and could be a challenge too especially if they are exhibiting changes on their behaviours. She understood what the clients had been going through, and she continued to empathize them and provide support doing from personal care, making meals, listening to them and just helping their ADLs if unable to do it.

Lorlie has been working with Senior Homecare By Angels since January 2014 and currently working full time with our client in a facility setting. Her educational background was Midwifery and Bachelor of Science in Education back from her home country. She has been working as a Personal Support Worker for 15 years, and currently taking a program in Massage Therapist and Food Server. She also worked as a caregiver for 5 years in Taiwan. She had an experience working with clients who had Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Lorlie enjoys doing physical activities such as exercise, yoga, and watching movies during her spare time.

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- JULY 2018

Congratulations to Josarie! Senior Homecare By Angels is proud to announce that Josarie Danieles is our Caregiver of the Month, July’s recipient award. Josarie is such a dedicated and loyal caregiver. She brought up her concerns about the well-being of our client. She stepped up to the plate when she found out that we didn’t have anyone who could cover the schedule of the other live-in caregiver. So, Josarie decided to cancel her plans that weekend, and decided to work due to the fact that she was worried about the client.

Josarie is a great advocator for our clients, even in the past when she was looking after a previous client that she was working on a case, she would provide updates, suggested different approaches on how to manage the client in a therapeutic way. Her outcome goals and interventions were to ensure the client was safe, needs and preferences were met, and respected. She is patient, compassionate, and passionate about what she does by helping others through caregiving.

Josarie has been working with Senior Homecare By Angels since January 2015 and currently working full time shifts for our client in a homecare setting. She was a Registered Midwife back in her home country and worked in a hospital. Her experiences were diverse with different medical conditions such as Dementia, Post-Surgery, Hypertensive, Diabetes, and other chronic conditions. She also handled cases with infants and toddlers. Josarie likes to travel and read books during her leisure time.

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- JUNE 2018

Congratulations to Judith! Senior Homecare By Angels is proud to announce that Judith Dongpol is our Caregiver of the Month, June’s recipient award. Her compassion, schedule flexibility, and stepping up to the plate are some of the qualities that we have recognized and valued greatly. There was a time when our office needed to cover another caregiver’s schedule in a very short notice to work within few hours, and Judith had agreed to cover the shift. Also, there was another time when the caregiver had to start later, and Judith had agreed to extend her night shift to cover until the day shift caregiver came back. Judith took actions just to ensure there were some coverage for the client, since it was a sensitive issue in terms of time constraint and client’s preference of continuity of care. She took responsibilities and did not hesitate by taking charge of the situations.

Judith is patient, caring, and understanding to the needs of the clients. She respects the clients and understands what she or he is going through. It is a rewarding experience for her to care for them knowing that our clients feel comfortable, joy, and content. She even loves singing together with them, and this is her creative way to get their attention when the clients are feeling agitated or confused. Judith is a such a treasure!

Judith has been working with Senior Homecare By Angels since October 2016 and currently working full time shifts for our client in a facility setting. She is a Personal Support Worker certified and had worked as a nanny and caregiver for 17 years in Hongkong before coming to Canada. She had worked with cases of Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Judith enjoys spending great time with her church members and friends. She likes to cook and clean during her free time.

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- MAY 2018

Senior Homecare By Angels is proudly present Elsa Dela Torre, our Caregiver of the Month. Elsa went beyond the call of duty. She had excelled in many ways such as stepping up to the plate when she noticed that the client needed more care and attention. She ensured that tasks were done completely and properly with the client, as well as documented all things she had done. What sets Elsa apart from all others in a crowd is her tenacity and perseverance. She has these qualities that motivate her to move forward with her plans and goals despite of any circumstances and stays positive no matter what the outcomes are. She will try to solve the problems with solutions when facing any difficulties and takes responsibilities.

Elsa is competent and able to manage all cases even the ones with complex situations. She is a team player and works well with the client’s family, other caregivers, and our office. She will attempt and do her best as she can to help our clients with their needs, and ensured they received the best optimal level of care as possible.

Elsa has been working with Senior Homecare By Angels since January 2016 and currently working part time shifts for our client in a homecare setting. She was a Registered Midwife back in her home country and worked in hospitals, as well as in Libya. She had an experience working with clients who had Dementia, COPD, Cardiovascular Disorders, and other chronic conditions. She is a Registered Personal Support Worker here in Canada.

Elsa enjoys going to a movie theatre with her son, staying home, watching her favourite shows on TV, and cooking meals. She loves to do gardening in her terrace apartment during summertime.

marichu garita

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- APRIL 2018

Senior Homecare By Angels is very pleased to announce Marichu Garita as our recipient, Caregiver of the Month. There are so many ways to appreciate Marichu. She is very communicative and honest. She always provides updates about our client’s condition and health status and informs the exact time she started and finished her shifts in our office if there were changes from her actual schedule. Her reporting is always consistent and detailed.

Marichu knew how to provide the best quality of care to our clients and ensured that they received proper care, love, and attention. She was inspired to do more and became actively involved in many different activities such as doing exercises, playing games, and crocheting with her previous client. It was one of her memorable experiences with this client that she learned many things including baking cookies, watching the client’s favourite sport on TV together, and playing cards. And most of all, Marichu learned a great deal of wisdom from listening with this client. Her happiest moment is when our clients are feeling content, comfortable, and joyful.

Marichu has been working with Senior Homecare By Angels since January 2016, and currently working part time with our clients in a homecare setting and residence. She has been working as a caregiver for 5 years and had experienced working with different types of medical conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Palliative, and other chronic disorders. Marichu enjoys reading books fiction or non-fiction, art, painting, attending educational health seminars, and doing exercises during her spare time.

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH- MARCH 2018

Congratulations to Margaret Falcasantos, Senior Homecare By Angels’ Caregiver of the Month. Margaret was recognized and awarded for her ongoing support, patience, hard work, and great passion. Her dedication to continue to care and help our client gives her satisfaction; and this is what she loves the most. She believes that patience and passion are the key to success and had strengthened it by developing a wonderful bond to our client.

Margaret has been keeping her schedules consistently and rarely taking any day offs or cancellations. She is a hard-working person and diligent. She helps our office also by referring other Personal Support Workers to work and providing their availabilities.

Margaret has been working as a Personal Support Worker with Senior Homecare By Angels since August 2014. She was a Registered Nurse back in her home country. She has several years of experienced with cases of Dementia and Alzheimer’s and learned many important information about handling these types of cases and how to care for.

Senior Homecare By Angels is proudly present Fritzie Carmel Jamili, our Caregiver of the Month. We appreciated Fritzie for her commitment to support our clients and achieve the goals. She was very compassionate, caring, kind, and empathetic. We have received a feedback from the family of our client couple stating that Fritzie was very wonderful to his parents and provided excellent care. She really did an amazing job on taking care of them.

For Fritzie, it was a very rewarding for her to help others knowing that all the clients that she looked after treated her nicely and kindly. They appreciated her help. Some of them treated Fritzie like a member of their family. She valued and respected all of our diverse clients.

Fritzie has been working with Senior Homecare By Angels since January 2015 and currently working part time shifts for our clients in a homecare setting. She was a Registered Nurse back in her home country and worked as a Staff Nurse, as well as in the Middle East. She had an experience working with clients who had Alzheimer’s, Dementia, bedridden; and had worked different shifts such as live-in, nights, and days. She performed great care by doing the transferring, handling the lifts, feeding through GT tubes, providing personal care, checking vital signs, and assisting with medications.

Fritzie enjoys spending time with her adorable son, watching movies, eating out at restaurants, communicating with her husband and family back home, spending time with friends, going to church, and baking cakes and bread during her spare time.

Thank you Fritzie for your beautiful work and everything that you did for our clients! You are a gem!
